    Compact and Rigid

By combining a HotEnd and extruder, Titan Aero is ultra compact. It offers you an extra 25mm of Z-axis build height compared to a V6 and Titan combo.

Thanks to its compactness, Titan Aero is also very rigid, allowing it to work with the fastest of printers and cope better with knocks and bumps.

    Rigid, reliable.

    Accurate Extrusion; Great for Flexibles

By having a short, well constrained filament path, Aero is great for flexibles. It minimises places where filament can bend, buckle and jam, giving a better flexible printing experience.

The short filament path is also beneficial for regular filaments by improving extrusion responsiveness. This means that extrusion can start and stop more immediately, giving accurate, cleaner prints.

    V6 Compatible, All Metal HotEnd

Titan Aero is built on the E3D V6 all metal design, allowing you to reliably print any thermoplastic at temperatures of more than 300°C.

It’s also been designed to take standard V6 heatbreaks, so that you can interchange components from E3D’s entire modular ecosystem to suit your needs. Choose from temperature sensors, heater cartridges, Volcano, or one of the 92 different nozzles we provide.

Easy to Install, Easy to Use

Aero is mounted using a standard NEMA17 pattern, allowing it to be fitted onto a wide range of printers and making designing mounting solutions straightforward to do.

By using Titan’s custom engineering and rigorously tested extrusion mechanism, Aero is highly reliable and retains all of the smart usability features. It’s a breeze to load and unload filament, manually extrude, adjust idler tension, and clean out debris from the hobb.

Likewise the use of Titan’s 3:1 gearing ratio allows the use of smaller motors, making for a lighter weight carriage whilst maintaining reliability and pushing power.

Titan: A Next Generation Extruder for your 3D printer

Titan brings high performance, lightweight universal extrusion to everyone: check out the launch video here! If you want to read about all the gory engineering details check out our blog post.

With the launch of the E3D Titan extruder, you now have the benefits of geared extrusion but in a lightweight, punchy little package.

    Performance. Power. Push.

With 3:1 gear reduction, precision milled hobbed gearing and E3D engineering, we’ve developed Titan to push with awesome power, while also being incredibly light and compact.

The gear ratio means you’re able to use lighter motors as you’ll need less torque for the same filament pushing force - so direct drive systems have a lighter moving carriage, and bowden-style printers become powerful, reliable little beasts when combined with your E3D V6 hotEnd.

Titan fits perfectly into E3D’s modular ecosystem, Titan works for all configurations of bowden, direct extrusion, 1.75mm and 3mm. To switch filament diameters only the filament guide needs to be swapped out, and both 3mm and 1.75mm versions are supplied with every Titan. To use Titan as a bowden extruder you just insert a bowden adaptor into the body instead of a hotend. Bowden adaptors for 3mm or 1.75mm are available as a low cost optional extra.

Please note:- due to a small, last-minute design change, there is an issue with Titan in 3mm, the result of which is that the filament will always engage with the drive gear. The effect of this is that loading & unloading filament is a little more time-consuming than we should have liked, other than this the product is fully functional. The problem has been identified and we are working to recity it with a new lever that will allow the idler to fully clear the drive gear. Because this fix  invovles a new injection-mould tool, we estimate the changes will have been made by 1st June 2016.

The Titan extruder gives your 3D printer 3:1 gear reduction.

    Speed.

Extruders with high gear ratios often struggle with snappy retracts and keeping up with Volcano for big, fast printing. Titan's balanced gearing ratio of 3:1 means that you can cope with fast extrusion situations like Volcano, and the lightweight gear-set gives snappy retractions.

    Resolution

Direct-drive extruders can have issues with ‘pulsing’ of flow, because the lower resolution of filament motion results in filament being extruded in pulses. This results in a slight wavy surface finish, and is particularly prevalent when printing at low layer heights. Using 3:1 gearing triples the resolution of the system and allows for smooth printing at the lowest of layer heights, using the smallest of nozzles.

The Titan extruder gives your 3D printer 3:1 gear reduction.

    Every Material.

fully guided filament path from extruder to print means your filament is carefully guided every step of the way, ensuring a smooth journey to the meltzone. The guide constrains filament throughout the extruder, leaving no gaps and no opportunity for buckling of flexible filaments.

The CNC machined individually cut filament drive teeth allow grip of the slipperiest of Nylons.

A combination of grip and torque allows extrusion of even the most viscous materials like metal filled and carbon reinforced filaments.

1.75mm or 3mm filament: Titan is compatible with either diameter of 3D printing filament, and easily swaps between the two.

The extruder has ample force for even the toughest, gnarliest materials out there, ones that hat would cause lesser extruders to skip, grind or buckle.

    No limits printing.

    A fully guided filament path.

    Reliable and Repeatable.

Adjustable tension allows for use with all filaments currently available. Furthermore an idler force indicator scale allows you to set the idler tension to a known and repeatable setpoint. This means you can always set Titan back to a known idler force for each of your filament types, and settings for filaments can be shared between Titan users or even provided by filament manufacturers.

Adjusting tension for easy use of exotic and new materials.

    Universal and Adaptable.

Universal Adaptable NEMA17 mounting - modular, easy to mount to the widest range of printers and simple to design mounting solutions for. Titan works for all configurations of bowden, direct extrusion, 1.75mm and 3mm.

    NEMA17 Motor mounted.

    Easy Extrusion; Easy Maintenance.

Titan is moulded in lightweight engineering plastics which provides a best-in-class performance to weight ratio.

Titan was designed with a clear intention to make your extrusion sustem *accessible*. The shape of the drive gear teeth ensures that filament flakes off the gear cleanly, and any left over debris can be brushed away with no disassembly, even during printing. The easy-access thumb-wheel makes it easy to manually extrude, purge, load and unload filaments. Titan easily strips down with 1 allen key in 1 minute, everything comes apart and reassembles easily and quickly.

    Beautiful extrusion.

    Upgrade Your 3D Printer.

With E3D V6 and Titan, you can now upgrade a wide range of 3D printers to an E3D extrusion system.
