    A custom made thermistor encapsulated into an easy to use cartridge package.

    Using our proven Semitec 104GT thermistors, which are then potted into a cylindrical copper cartridge with a high conductivity ceramic based adhesive. The legs are insulated with fibreglass sleeving, and terminated with a Molex Microfit 3.0 connector.

    Silicone Socks are also available in sets of 3!

    • These socks will keep your nozzle clean and free of burnt on blackened plastic. They don’t just keep the nozzle clean, but also keep heat inside the hotend, and off the print.
    • Made of a heat-resistant, non-stick silicone material that will repel build-up of molten plastic. This really helps with sticky materials like Co-Polyesters and filled materials that like to build up on nozzles.
    • These also offer a huge boost in temperature stability, particularly if you use high airflow cooling around the nozzle to cool the print. The additional cooling combined with reduced radiation of heat from the block and nozzle to the print really boost the ability to print great overhangs and bridges, all while keeping the hotend temperature extremely stable.
    • The covers simply push onto the front of the hotend with no disassembly - they will be a tight fit when first pushed on cold. When hot the silicone will expand to the correct size to fit the hotend snugly. The elastic material will fit all nozzle sizes in the range from 0.25mm to 0.80mm
    • Socks don't last forever. Depending on what materials you print and how much abuse they get they eventually wear away at the nozzle tip. Even with sticky abrasive materials and a bit of abuse they should easily last 100+ print hours. With less sticky materials like ABS and gentler use you can get almost infinite life. Your mileage may vary.

    A pack of 3x high temperature non-stick silicone socks for E3D-v6 and other hotends also using the E3D-v6 style heater block with thermistor cartridges. They will not properly fit the screw-washed clamped thermistor style E3D-v6 Block. These socks fit the new cartridge style thermistor blocks. To upgrade to the new block and thermistor, with 3x socks purchase the Block and Sock Kit

    Requirements

    WARNING: This precision nozzle for 3D printing has been engineered by E3D to be as user-friendly as possible, but nonetheless has some very specific requirements!

    • For use with MG94-ABS, PC-ABS, or PMMA
    • Always use clean, high-quality filament
    • Requires the use of a geared extruder (e.g. Titan), silicone sock and part-cooling fan
    • Keep clean and dust-free to avoid blockage

    Slicer Settings:

    • Nozzle Size: 0.15mm (obviously!)
    • Layer Height: We recommend somewhere in the region of 0.08mm. This proved to be the sweet-spot for us.
    • Print Speeds: Make sure to turn your speeds and acceleration down. This is all about precision, and precision takes time. We ran our printers at 18mm.s-1, with outline and infill under-speeds at 75-80%. The overhangs were left at the default 45°, and the minimum infill length at 5 mm.
    • Retraction: Stringing can be almost entirely tuned away in your retraction settings, however poor tuning can make things much worse due to the higher extrusion forces and pressures. We were using 1mm at 30mm/s-1.

    Notes:

    • All v6 nozzles (including this one!) are backwards compatible, so can be used to upgrade your v5 Hot End
    • If you are using a v6 HeatBreak it is recommended that you use a v6 Nozzle.
    • 3mm version coming soon!
    • The 0.15mm nozzle has no dots, and as such can easily be confused with the 0.25mm nozzle. Store separately!
