The RADDS board provides the following connection options:

  • 6 stepper motors, eg 3 axes and 3 extruder (2 drivers are equipped with double Headers for parallel operation of 2 motors, for example, the z-axis at the Mendel Prusa)
  • 6 high-current consumer, eg: heater bed, 3 Hotend heaters and 2 fans
  • SD card (Micro-SD slot on the board, alternatively external SD slot)
  • Standard LCD (5 V) with, for example, 4x20 characters (HD44780 compatible controller)
  • Rotary encoder with pushbutton
  • Reset and Back button (from V1.1)
  • 6 Endstops (3 x min. And 3 x max., Eg Hall-E-Endstops )
  • 5 thermistors and an ADC without a series resistor, for example, a warmed-temperature, 3 x Hotend temperature, pressure chamber temperature
  • 3 servos (external power required, 3.3V PWM)
  • I2C, SPI, CAN, DAC, RS232 and 8 digital pins are accessible on pin headers


Other highlights:

  • EEPROM, since the Due - unlike in Mega - not available
  • LED indicators for power supply and high-current consumers
  • Freewheeling diodes of the FETs
  • Automotive fuses instead imprecise thermal fuses
  • LCD connection, thermistors and SD card via insulation displacement connectors and ribbon cables possible
  • Load of a warmed-FET is at least 15 A without a heat sink
  • High-quality screw
  • Operation with 10-25 V possible (DC-DC converter for supply of 8.5 V with Due, from V1.2)
  • Micro switches for setting the micro-steps (as of V1.2 in V1.0, V1.1: interconnects sever)
